Description

The purple-leaved parrot leaf Alternanthera reineckii "Lilacina" enchants with olive-green to brown-red leaf tops and intensely purple leaf undersides and stems. At high light intensity and CO2 supply these colors are more intense and the plant grows more compact, under weaker light the Lilacina tends to turn green.

To propagate, simply pinch off a side shoot or shoot tip and replant. Thanks to the roots that soon form, the new plant quickly takes root.

This beautiful stem plant fits very well in the middle ground to background, depending on the aquarium size. It does not grow particularly fast and is easy to cut back.
