With its pyramid-shaped shell, the Tectus algae snail is a real eye-catcher in the aquarium. The algae snail originating from the Indo-Pacific is scientifically also called Tectus fenestratum and is ideal for reef aquariums. Since it nibbles algae and growth tirelessly all day long, the Tectus algae snail is a welcome co-inhabitant.
The Tectus snail reaches a size of 4 cm.Breeding in the aquarium is rather impossible. It can be kept already from 50 liters and should be placed into acclimated tanks if possible, because it feeds mainly on algae and growth. It can be fed with Nori algae or spinach.
Since it is otherwise quite undemanding in care, it can already be kept well by beginners in marine aquaristics and can also be socialized with other invertebrates and peaceful fish.
Expert Tip: For fish keeping we recommend the NatureHolic 3 Phase Liquid. The care set offers the best all-round protection for your animals. It ensures optimal conditions for successful breeding and keeping.
