Aquael pond filter

MAXI filter line can be used for ornamental garden ponds and other types of water reservoirs. This AQUAEL line includes three models: MAXI, recommended for water storage tanks up to 5000 l capacity; MAXI 1, recommended for water storage tanks up to 10,000 l capacity; and SUPER MAXI, which can be used in water storage tanks up to 25,000 l capacity .

Depending on the installation option, a MAXI filter can be used as:

an external filter located on the bank of a pond or above a waterfall source,
An immersion filter located at the bottom of the water tank. When this option is selected, the pump is mounted on the filter lid and also serves as a fountain.

CONTENTS OF THE STANDARD PACKAGE:
The standard MAXI filter package contains a set of filter media: brushes, sponge, BIO MAX balls and coconut mat. The package also contains all the elements necessary to mount the filter inside or outside the water tank. In addition to the filter, the package includes a PCV tube with a rubber bend, 3 screws, 3 nuts and a stand.

Functional description:
The filter system supplied with the MAXI filter guarantees comprehensive mechanical and biological filtration.
The MAXI filter can be additionally equipped with a UV lamp to prevent water blooming and algae growth. The standard MAXI package does not include a UV lamp.

If the MAXI filter is to be used as a fountain, the pump base must be attached to the filter cover. Attach the spray nozzle to the pump outlet. Screw the stub supplied with the standard package into the pump inlet. Then connect the pump to the elbows combined with the suction pipe. The tube will draw treated water from the bottom of the filter and expel it through the spray nozzle over the water surface.

When the MAXI filter is used as an external filter, the treated water flows back into the pond through the hoses connected to the outlets when it reaches the outlets in the bottom of the filter. If the filter is located above a waterfall, one of the two outlet ports on its bottom can be used to form the waterfall or cascade. Make sure the point from which the suction pipe draws water into the filter is a sufficient distance from the point where the treated water is returned to the pond.

FILTER MEDIA:
MAXI pond filters are supplied with 4 layers of filter media:

• Brush
• Sponge
• Coconut mat
• Bio-balls

The media are arranged in layers. Brushes are very suitable for water treatment or mechanical filtration. At the same time, they provide an excellent substrate for the development of live bacterial cultures.

The next stage of mechanical filtration is performed by a phenol-free sponge. The sponge also provides a particularly favorable environment for the development of bacterial cultures responsible for the removal of biological contaminants from the reservoir.

Coconut mat, due to its structure, is an excellent mechanical filtration medium and a perfect substrate for the bacterial cultures responsible for biological filtration.

The styrofoam balls have ribs and small openings on both poles. Their action is based on the differentiation of aerobic conditions for biochemical processes. On their outer surface aerobic conditions are favorable for oxidation of organic compounds. The inner surface acts as an anaerobic microreactor where reduction of organic compounds takes place. All this results in very effective water purification.
