Underwater art on canvas - Marga Renner

Let me introduce myself.

My name is Marga Renner. I am a freelance artist. I live with my husband, our 4 cats and what feels like 400 fish and shrimp in beautiful Bavaria.As long as I can remember, I've always had a pen in my hand.At the age of 2, I swiped my mother's lipsticks from her purse, made me over the bookshelf and "embellished" to the great delight of my mother valuable art volumes.

Even in school, art was always my favorite. How could it be otherwise ? I studied graphic and communication design. Along the way, I always made animal portraits, because animals are my great passion. This was followed by commissioned work and for the last 2 years I have devoted myself completely to animal and portrait painting.

I paint based on photos and my works are largely photorealistic. I prefer to use watercolor pencils, pastels and pencil. When I discovered a new passion last year - aquaristics - the first order of a fish followed.

"How can you have a fish drawn" I thought, but it was great fun.Then in a Facebook group  (Lippi's shrimp kingdom) a Christmas raffle was issued.

The motto was: be creative. Of course I did not miss that.

I reached the 2nd place and so Farschad became attentive on me. He liked my work and offered me to write a blog on his site. For this I would like to thank him once again. If my lines have now made you curious, just visit me on my Facebook page. Here are some impressions of my work:

Marga: I wanted to deliver a funny drawing. This shrimp should sit on the head of the Gabon fan shrimp.

Marga: And there it sits already

Marga: So, now comes the real challenge. How do you get these transparent fans? I really sweated and put umpteen layers of paint on top of each other.

Marga: And finished. Actually, the background should also be worked out photorealistically, but I ran out of time. I think the combination of photorealism and abstract also has something.
