ADA - Bio-Rio

ADA Bio Rio G from Aqua Design Amano is a filter medium made of sintered glass for biological filtration of aquarium water. ADA Bio Rio is ideally placed in an external filter.

Sintered glass is highly porous and thus has an unimaginably large surface area on which pollutant-degrading bacteria can settle in the filter at all angles. Thus, the ADA Bio Rio filter media gives a home to an immensely large number of beneficial filter bacteria.

The parts are irregularly shaped, which ensures a good flow through the ADA Bio Rio filter medium and the filter does not clog. Due to the good supply of oxygen dissolved in the water, the filter bacteria in this filter medium for the external filter do a great job. On the other hand, anaerobic nitrogen-degrading bacteria are located in the finer channels, which can prevent excessive levels of potentially toxic nitrogen compounds in the water.

The sintered glass medium used for ADA Bio Rio is absolutely water neutral. It does not affect water hardness or pH. Apart from the fact that the sintered glass granules should be flushed every now and then when the external filter is cleaned anyway, the dimensionally stable filter medium is very easy to care for and requires little maintenance. For a long filter life and effective filter performance, the excellent filter medium from Japan is indispensable.
