If you were looking for the perfect eye-catcher in the aquarium, you have found it with the Ammannia senegalensis, as the Small Cognac plant is also called! This African stem plant forms an orange-red hue and is therefore great as an eye-catcher between other green plant colonies.
It is also well suited for the Holland aquarium or the aquascape and loosens up plant groups. It grows a bit faster than its little sister Ammannia gracilis and can be trimmed regularly. In this way, a more compact growth can be achieved, which often branches out and forms bushy stands. The cognac plant is propagated via head cuttings.
The In Vitro Ammannia senegalensis was cultivated sterile in the plant laboratory and is completely germ-free. It does not bring any nasty surprises like snails, algae or parasites and can therefore be put into the shrimp aquarium immediately. Before inserting, rinse the nutrient medium off the plants and then place the shoots in the substrate at a slight distance from each other.
