Whether for the aquarium, aquaterrarium or terrarium - in each of them the different-leaved spear leaf, as Anubias heterophylla is also called, cuts a good figure. Compared to the Anubias barteri species, however, the A. heterophylla grows larger and also requires a light source. Originally, this siting plant comes from Africa and is mainly found along shoreline edges and splash water areas.
This plant was grown InVitro in theplant laboratory. Thus, it is absolutely sterile and germ-free and does not bring pests such as algae, snails or planaria. Since it was cultivated without pesticides or plant protection products, it can also be used directly in the shrimp aquarium. Simply remove the nutrient medium beforehand and tie or glue the Anubias with its rhizome to roots or stones. However, do not place it in the substrate, because then the rhizome may start to rot and this great plant will die.
Due to its size, Anubias heterophylla is also well suited for open tanks and is easy and uncomplicated to maintain and also propagate. To do this, simply use sharp scissors to cut off part of the rhizome with three leaves on it and tie or glue it back on, and the Anubias will grow firmly there again.
Our recommendation: For a magnificent plant growth we recommend the use of the NatureHolic fertilizer series and for new setups the Premium Nutrient Substrate NatureHolic GroundBooster.
Expert Tip: With the NatureHolic plant glue glue this plant gently and easily on stones, roots and decoration . Made in Germany, the adhesive does not pollute the water and has no negative impact on the stock.
