The females of the pretty little Blue Bee shrimp (Paracaridina sp.) carry their 15 to 25 red to reddish brown eggs under their abdomens between three and a half and four and a half weeks. After completion of this gestation period, very small but already fully developed shrimp hatch. By purchasing an already pregnant female, you can very quickly assemble a larger group of shrimp that has a wider genetic variety. Another advantage is that the juveniles are already used to the conditions in the aquarium when they hatch, so they don't have to go through a big adjustment. Blue Bee shrimp are group animals, you should never keep a pregnant female alone because they are relatively sensitive and can reject their eggs if they feel too stressed. 10 to 15 Blue Bees are a suitable starting stock.
Natureholic baby food is an optimal rearing food especially for the tiny young animals.
A detailed description about keeping and breeding can be found at our main description of the "Blue Bee Shrimp".

Our plant recommendation: Use for planting NatureHolic InVitros. These are free of snails, planaria and other unwanted co-inhabitants. Also free of algae spores, bacteria and fungi.
