The pregnant females of the striking black and white banded bumblebee shrimp (Caridina sp.) nurse and fan their 20 to 40 eggs for four to six weeks, carrying them attached to their swimming legs. Fully developed baby shrimp hatch at the end of the gestation period. In a group of 10 to 15 shrimp recommended as a starting stock, pregnant females provide a good way to quickly increase group size and broaden the genetic range in the aquarium. Bumblebee shrimp need the group to feel comfortable and should not be kept alone .
Once the babies are hatched, offer them Natureholic Baby Food everything they need to grow healthy and shed their skin without any problems.
More information about keeping and breeding the bumblebee shrimp can be found in the main page for the "Bumblebee Shrimp".
Our food recommendation: The soft Mainfeed Softpads from NatureHolic are designed for daily feeding. They contain all the nutrients that shrimp need for shell development, egg formation and growth. During the production we pay attention to a gentle and environmentally friendly production, in which the vitamins and other valuable ingredients are preserved as much as possible.
Our plant recommendation: Use for planting NatureHolic InVitros. These are free of snails, planaria and other unwanted co-inhabitants. Also free of algae spores, bacteria and fungi.
Expert Tip: We recommend for fish keeping the NatureHolic 3 Phase Liquid. The care set offers the best all-round protection for your animals. It ensures optimal conditions for successful breeding and keeping.
