Description

The impressive red chameleon tetras originate from South America, more precisely from the Solimoes and the Negro River. Scientifically they are called Hemigrammus coeruleus and have not been known in the hobby for too long.  With their great colors they look especially smart and are great eye catchers.

Your favorites have a high-backed physique with the typical tetra adipose fin. Their striking lateral line extends from the eye to the tail fin root. The fin tips are white. Especially the males shine fire-red at courtship time, which is why they live up to their name. They reach a size of about 7 cm.

You can keep a group of at least 10 animals in a tank from 112 liters well. Design the aquarium with root structures and dense plant groups in places, which you can place at the edge and in the background, so that your favorites still have enough swimming space available.

There is currently no information about breeding in the aquarium, but as a free spawner it should be possible. Emerging young animals are therefore rather to be attributed to the coincidence. You can also socialize the peaceful animals with other tetras from South America, furthermore livebearers, baelings or catfish are also suitable.

Offer your omnivores a varied and species-appropriate menu, so that they stay with you for a long time. For this purpose you can use common dry and flake food and supplement it now and then with live and frozen food.

Our food recommendation: NatureHolic professional main feed is a professional main feed for all aquarium fish. We supply Hauptfeed in the form of soft granules which, thanks to its grain size of half a millimeter, can be easily ingested by small to medium-sized fish. The soft consistency resembles the texture of insect larvae in nature and protects the fish mouth from micro-injuries.

Our plant recommendation: Use for planting NatureHolic InVitros. These are free of snails, planarians and other unwanted co-inhabitants. Also free of algae spores, bacteria and fungi.

Expert Tip: We recommend when keeping fish the NatureHolic 3 Phase Liquid. The care set offers the best all-round protection for your animals. It ensures optimal conditions for successful breeding and keeping.

Question: "Hallo, der Fisch interessiert mich. Was stimmt nun? MfG G. Kuhn "
