from over 3,000 reviews "Strictly selected over years and bred out with much love and effort, the Yellow Tiger Orange Eye is a great breeding form, which once originated from Yellow King Kong (Caridina sp.) and Tiger Shrimp Orange Eyes (Caridina mariae). The yellow but sometimes almost transparent body is striking. Occasionally red or black tiger stripes can appear again. With the striking bright eyes (Orange Eyes, abbreviated OE) these dwarf shrimps, which are called Caridina sp., are a particularly interesting high-breeding variety in the aquarium.
The attractive animals can be kept in aquariums starting from 10 liters, whereby we would rather recommend 20 liters as lower limit. So that the Yellow Tigers feel well and develop well a so-called bee setup is advantageous. The water should be soft, slightly acidic and rich in oxygen. With osmosis water and a special mineral salt for bee shrimp, as we also carry in our store, a feel-good water can be produced quickly and easily. Especially an active Soil buffers the values well, but on the dark substrate the animals also come out prima. When using aquarium gravel, care should be taken that it does not harden up. Up to 25 °C the Yellow Tigers feel very well, in summer the aquarium should be cooled down if necessary. Also with the Yellow Tiger the water should be changed regularly, 10-30 % per week are here advantageous.
The Yellow Tiger Orange Eyes reaches a body length of about 3-4 centimeters, the males remain rather more slender. The females mate about every 6 weeks and carry 20-40 eggs, from which fully developed young hatch. They stay hidden for the first time and should be fed with a dust food like our BabyFeed. A separate breeding is not necessary, because the parents usually do not chase their young. However, breeding in a species tank is recommended.
Brown Autumn leaves and leaves are the main food source of the omnivorous Yellow Tigers. Among other things, young animals hide between these. The humic substances contained in the foliage also have a positive effect on the water quality. After bacteria have tapped into the foliage, the dwarf shrimp prefer to graze on it and should also be fed a rather vegetable diet. Twice a week feeding with a suitable protein food like our ProteinFeed is recommended.
Our food recommendation: NatureHolic's soft Mainfeed Softpads are designed for daily feeding. They contain all the nutrients shrimp need for shell development, egg formation and growth. During the production we pay attention to a gentle and environmentally friendly production, where the vitamins and other valuable ingredients are preserved as much as possible.
Our plant recommendation: Use for planting NatureHolic InVitros. These are free of snails, planaria and other unwanted co-inhabitants. Also free of algae spores, bacteria and fungi.
Expert Tip: We recommend for fish keeping the NatureHolic 3 Phase Liquid. The care set offers the best all-round protection for your animals. It ensures optimal conditions for successful breeding and keeping.
