In this very personal retrospective of his life, the father of aquascaping and well-known nature photographer Takashi Amano (1954-2015) shows himself from a completely different side. He wrote this book at the end of his life, already marked by cancer. On a whole 280 pages Amano shows his life in pictures. Through this book we understand his personality a whole lot better - and thus his work, the natural aquarium.

This fascinating illustrated book shows Takashi Amano's sources of inspiration in nature, which brought him to his work, and his work. With his usual fantastic pictures and also with the very personal texts, the author gives us a deep look into his aquascaper soul.

Here we see them again: the famous landscape photographs and aquarium paintings of Takashi Amano, the aquascapes that Amano designed and that helped him to his worldwide reputation and acquaintance. Here, Amano shares some of his background and how many of his photographs came to be.
