The larva of the black soldier fly (Hermetia illuscens) has been known for a long time as a high-quality protein supplier and can be sustainably bred, so this is the main ingredient of the fish food. The larvae are fed with fruits and vegetables from the trade for human consumption, which would usually have been sorted out and destroyed. Thus, sustainable and resource-saving production is writ large at BugBites. And this food produced in this way can be fed - because full of healthy nutrients, the subsequently gently dried insect larvae represent an important food component.
Mixed with high-quality salmon and vegetables and supplemented with additional minerals, BugBites offers bottom-feeding fish an optimal ratio of vegetable and animal proteins that are highly digestible.
