The high-protein filter media is beaded for smooth filter passage, increasing its efficiency but also capacity. PhosGuard does not work from exchange resin base and therefore does not release any substances to the water. Once dissolved, it safely retains phosphates and silicates.
Application: That PhosGuard may generate heat upon first contact with water, please follow the detailed product instructions located on the packaging. For best results, PhosGuard should be pre-moistened with twice the volume of fresh water before first use and then rinsed. For phosphate removal in seawater, use 85 ml for 200 liters of aquarium water; for removal in freshwater, use 85 m per 400 liters. Test the water values daily during the first 4 days of treatment.
