from over 3,000 reviews "Water values: | soft to hard |
Difficulty: | for beginners |
Propagation: | possible in fresh water |
Origin: | Abroad offspring |
Coloring: | black blue |
With their unusual colors the Crazy Blue shrimp are great color spots in the aquarium. Their color spectrum is reminiscent of Blue Bolts or Steel Blue and ranges from various shades of blue to turquoise to black, occasionally with fascinating bright speckles in the head area. They can be easily crossed with other Caridina like bee shrimp, tiger shrimp or hybrids of them like Shadow or Taiwanese. If you want to become the next champion, Crazy Blue shrimp will help you to express your enthusiasm.
If the Crazy Blue feels comfortable and the water values are optimal, they reproduce without problems every 1.5 months. During this process the female carries the 20-40 eggs under her belly after attaching them to her swimming legs. The young hatch here and stay in the first time mostly still at the place of hatching, where they moult several times and gain in size. With a dust food like our BabyFeed they can be fed optimally, because it spreads well in the water and reaches even the last shrimp hiding place.
We recommend the care of the great Crazy Blue shrimp from 20 liters, but they could also be kept from 10 liters. However, if you are looking for a larger yield of juveniles, you would be better off with a larger water volume. A bee setup with active soil and soft water (250-50 microsiemens) has proven successful. They can be kept at room temperature without any problems and a little cooler, permanently higher temperatures above 23 °C should be avoided and cooled down in summer under certain circumstances. Crazy Blue shrimps value good water hygiene, therefore the water should be changed and replaced every week with at least 10-30 %.
Like all dwarf shrimp, the magnificent Crazy Blues are peaceful animals that can be kept without problems with other dwarf shrimp, peaceful fish (from 54 liters) or snails and also dwarf crabs. However, for less stress and a better juvenile rate, it is better to keep them in a species aquarium.
The omnivorous Crazy Blue is not particularly picky when it comes to food, but should be fed mainly vegetable food, so that it does not get skinning and growth problems. Therefore brown autumn leaves are a good permanent food, which also has a positive effect on the water values, but can also be used to feed the Crazy Blue Hokkaido chips or Nettle sticks. With our MainFeed as main food and now and then a portion of the ProteinFeed the animals are well supplied with everything they need for a long and healthy life
Our feeding recommendation: NatureHolic's soft Mainfeed softpads are designed for daily feeding. They contain all the nutrients shrimp need for shell development, egg formation and growth. During production we pay attention to a gentle and environmentally friendly production, in which the vitamins and other valuable ingredients are preserved as far as possible.
Our recommendation: Use NatureHolic InVitros for the planting. These are free of snails, planaria and other unwanted co-inhabitants. Also free of algae spores, bacteria and fungi.
Expert Tip: We recommend the NatureHolic 3 Phase Liquid when keeping invertebrates. The care set offers the best all-round protection for your invertebrates. It ensures optimal conditions for successful breeding and keeping.
