Aquarium Soil - active against unsuitable water values!

Active substrate in the aquarium is also called Soil. A distinction is made here between plant soil and shrimp soil  - while shrimp soil is not pre-fertilized and therefore an aquarium with shrimp soil can be stocked relatively quickly, plant soil contains a large amount of nutrients for the aquarium plants and is therefore very popular in aquascaping. This gives the aquatic plants in the aquarium a good start right away and they can start growing as soon as they have adjusted to aquarium life.

However, pre-fertilized Soil for plants tends to give off a lot of nutrients in the first few weeks. Such an aquarium should not be stocked with fish or shrimp right away, and water should be changed regularly and generously in the early days to avoid causing algae plagues. Later, the plants in the aquarium or aquascape will gladly take care of the nutrients from the active plant soil.

Soil always consists of natural black earths, which are pressed into balls of different grain size and baked at low temperatures. These earth components give the Soil its beautiful, naturally dark color, on which the bright colors of fish and shrimp and, of course, plants in the aquarium shine doubly intense and beautiful. Most aquarium animals find dark soil very pleasant and show significantly fewer signs of stress on black or dark brown Soil than on a light-colored aquarium substrate. The beads are perfect for aquarium plants - there is always a good water exchange for the roots, nothing gets compacted and the aquatic plants can grow super.

The black soil in active aquarium Soil acts as a natural ion exchanger. It removes the carbonate hardness from the aquarium water and makes it soft. Because active Soil often contains a lot of humic substances from the black soil, the pH value is buffered by this substrate at about 6.5, i.e. in a slightly acidic pH range. This is very beneficial to many aquatic plants and also aquarium animals from soft water, which feel super comfortable in exactly these conditions.

Active Soil for aquarium or aquascape does not need to be washed out before use. Soil granules are baked at low temperatures and are therefore quite soft. Washing out can lead to having only black mud in the bucket afterwards. Therefore, the Soil is always moist from the bag directly into the aquarium. Because Soil is always stored slightly moist in the packaging, there is no dust formation, and also the water turbidity when filling the water into the aquarium is kept within narrow limits, if you let the water run in slowly and gently.
