Shirakura Red Bee Sand, 8 kg (approx. 8 liters)

The Shirakura Red Bee Sand is an innovative substrate, which is particularly suitable for keeping dwarf shrimp of the genus Caridina . It was developed especially for the breeding of bee shr imps and was constantly improved by Takayuki Shirakura in cooperation with the manufacturer in several trials. Friends for years, they have made it their mission to achieve the best possible result for keeping and breeding bee shrimp.

This substrate, produced in a special process from various baked earths, has the property of permanently lowering the water values that are important for breeding, such as carbonate hardness (KH) and the pH value. For breeding a carbonate hardness (KH) of 0-2 is aimed at and to avoid ammonia a pH-value of below 7. If the measured total hardness (GH) at these values is lower than 5, one should raise it again a little with Liquid Mineral Ca+, otherwise it can lead to moulting problems.

Shirakura Red Bee Sand contains no fertilizer additives and is therefore absolutely safe for shrimps. Its highly porous structure provides a very large surface area and thus habitat for the settlement of important microorganisms, which especially baby shrimps need for their development. Especially when using bottom filters, the Red Bee Sand thus also offers optimal conditions for biological purification and thus for the best water quality.

Note:
The substrate should not be washed out before use, it can be immediately introduced into the aquarium. Of course, the Red Bee Sand is super suitable for all dwarf shrimp and not only for Red Bee shrimp.
