This Orange Rili shrimp "High Grade Sakura" is a particularly intense orange shining color variant of the Orange Sakura shrimp Neocaridina davidi "orange". Not only the bright orange coloration is special here, but also the transparent areas on the body. They are individually different and give each Orange Rili High Grade Sakura a slightly different appearance. Mostly the head and parts of the abdomen of the shrimp are orange, but other markings are also possible. Basically, female Orange Rili High Grade Sakura are even more intensely colored than males, the females can reach up to 3 cm in body length and thus become somewhat larger and bulkier than the males.
We recommend a starting stock of 10-20 Orange Rili High Grade Sakura. Since the Orange Rili High Grade Sakura is only a color form of the Orange Sakura, these variants can be kept together, but then it can come to a dilution of the really exceptionally intense orange coloration. One should consider well, whether one should not spend this new color form nevertheless rather a kind tank. Wild colored hybrids are not to be expected. Other shrimp species can also be socialized with the peaceful, social Orange Rili High Grade Sakura as group animals, provided that the demands on water values and feeding are compatible.
With peaceful, not too large and not too curious fish these dwarf shrimps can also be kept very well in the aquarium. Also with freshwater crabs, large crayfish, non-predatory snails and with mussels the socialization usually works without problems. Dwarf crayfish will prey on shrimp depending on their character, so a little care should be taken here.
The Orange Rili High Grade Sakura shrimp is not difficult to breed. Shrimps of the genus Neocaridina are considered to be eager to reproduce. They largely leave offspring alone and do not eat young. The females carry their golden-yellow eggs under the abdomen for about three to four weeks (this can be observed very well in the Rilivariant!) and then release fully developed juveniles, which immediately begin to live independently after hatching. Some selection work may be necessary in subsequent generations to maintain the beautiful intense orange hue.
Orange Rili High Grade Sakuras graze the surfaces of the aquarium all day long for biofilm and algae deposits, they eat dead plant parts and food remains and thus constantly work as health police in the aquarium. However, they are also happy to take special shrimp food composed mainly of vegetable components, which covers their needs particularly well. Twice a week a special protein feed should be given to the protein supply Protein feed should be given twice a week. Brown autumn leaves are useful as a dietary supplement and can be left in the shrimp aquarium as a permanent food.
Our feed recommendation: The soft Mainfeed Softpads from NatureHolic are designed for daily feeding. They contain all the nutrients shrimp need for shell development, egg formation and growth. During the production we pay attention to a gentle and environmentally friendly production, where the vitamins and other valuable ingredients are preserved as much as possible.
Our plant recommendation: Use for planting NatureHolic InVitros. These are free of snails, planaria and other unwanted co-inhabitants. Also free of algae spores, bacteria and fungi.
Expert Tip: We recommend for fish keeping the NatureHolic 3 Phase Liquid. The care set offers the best all-round protection for your animals. It ensures optimal conditions for successful breeding and keeping.
