The brightly colored, finely structured small polyp SPS stony coral Seriatopora caliendrum "Mint Green" comes from the Indo-Pacific. In the aquarium the hard coral should find medium to much light and a very good water quality. Also good current is advantageous for a successful attitude of this needle coral. A portion of blue light in the lighting supports the Mint Green Needle Coral in the pigment formation. Then it colors itself particularly brightly.
Seriatopora caliendrum stony corals belong to the group of SPS corals, which are generally more demanding in keeping, but the coral itself is comparatively easy to maintain and is great for beginners in coral keeping. The very interesting shaped and brightly colored thorn coral for seawater forms the most beautiful colors with good light and good water values (especially with as little phosphate and nitrate as possible).
Seriatopora caliendrum "Mint Green" grows quite fast in good conditions in the marine aquarium. The thorn coral grows up to 30 cm and therefore needs a rather larger saltwater aquarium from 200 liters volume.
To propagate the Mint Green Needle Coral, simply cut off pieces as offshoots. These coral offshoots are best glued on with coral glue.
