The Yellow Fire Rili shrimp is descended from the yellow shrimp Yellow Fire(Neocaridina davidi "yellow"). It is not only bright yellow, but also has individually distributed transparent areas on its body. Often the head and part of the abdomen are yellow, but there are also shrimp with a spotting or completely different pattern. The females of the Yellow Fire Rili are often a bit more strongly colored than the males, they grow with up to 3 cm body length also clearly larger and are somewhat plumper.
An initial stocking of 10 to 20 Yellow Rili shrimp is recommended. They were bred out of the Yellow Fire and can be socialized with this color at any time. With other colors of Neocaridina davidi the wild form can show through in the offspring, the animals are then only transparent, slightly black patterned or brownish. The Yellow Fire Rili is a very peaceful group animal and can besocialized besides other shrimps also with small and peaceful fish as well as with non-predatory snails, with mussels and freshwater crabs and large crayfish . Depending on the species and character, dwarf crayfish can attack shrimp, so this socialization is not entirely uncritical for shrimp.
The Yellow Fire Rili shrimp is as easy to propagate as it is to keep. It is eager to reproduce and does not chase its offspring. After mating, the females carry 20-40 golden yellow eggs for about 3-4 weeks on the swimming legs under the abdomen. From these hatch fully developed juveniles that are immediately independent.
Yellow Fire Rilis are feeding all day long. They pick up biofilms and algae from the surfaces in the tank, but also eat dead parts of plants and remains of fish food - a real cleaning troop. Special shrimp food on a predominantly vegetable basis is also readily accepted, as well as a special shrimp protein food twice a week. A useful permanent food in the aquarium is brown autumn leaves.
Our food recommendation: The soft Mainfeed Softpads from NatureHolic are designed for daily feeding. They contain all the nutrients shrimp need for shell development, egg formation and growth. During the production we pay attention to a gentle and environmentally friendly production, which preserves the vitamins and other valuable ingredients as much as possible.
Our plant recommendation: Use for planting NatureHolic InVitros. These are free of snails, planaria and other unwanted co-inhabitants. Also free of algae spores, bacteria and fungi.
Expert Tip: We recommend for fish keeping the NatureHolic 3 Phase Liquid. The care set offers the best all-round protection for your animals. It ensures optimal conditions for successful breeding and keeping.
