Description

Blue/Black Dalmatian shr imp takes its name from the popular dog breed with black spots. Just like these dogs, the Blue/Black Dalmatian shrimp has irregular dark spots and dots. However, unlike the Dalmatian dogs, these spots are black to dark blue in this color variety of Neocaridina davidi. The body color is light blue to transparent. As a color form of the Carbon Rili, the Blue/Black Dalmatian Dwarf Shrimp can be socialized very well with this color type, as well as with Black Sakuras or Blue Dream Shrimp. The female Dalmatian shrimp can reach up to 3 cm in length, while the male shrimp of this variety are somewhat smaller and more slender.

Like all Neocaridina, the Blue/Black Dalmatian variant copes wonderfully with different water values, because the genus also occurs in nature in very different habitats. The Blue/Black Dalmatina is also not very picky about food. In addition to leftover food (fish food, dead plants) and biofilms and algae deposits, it also very gladly accepts vegetable food in the form of dried nettle leaves or scalded spinach ; special shrimp food is of course also always fine. Protein food should be given twice a week, and brown autumn leaves may always be present in the aquarium.

The Blue/Black Dalmatian Dwarf Shrimp also gets along well with other shrimp as a peaceful group animal. Please make sure that the demands on the water values are comparable for the animals you want to keep together. An initial stocking of 10 to 20 Blue/Black Dalmatian Shr imp is recommended, as dwarf shrimp are group animals. Blue/Black Dalmatian Shrimp can be socialized with small, peaceful, not overly curious fish just as well as with large crayfish, freshwater cra bs, mussels and peaceful snails. Dwarf crayfish can strongly pursue shrimp, depending on their character, so some caution is advised here. Provide enough fine fiddled plants in the aquarium, so that the offspring can hide there well and are not preyed upon.

After about three to four weeks of gestation under the abdomen, the female releases 20-40 fully developed baby shrimp. Since the adults do not chase the babies, the young can simply be left in the parent aquarium for rearing.

Our food recommendation: The soft Mainfeed Softpads from NatureHolic are designed for daily feeding. They contain all the nutrients shrimp need for shell development, egg formation and growth. During the production we pay attention to a gentle and environmentally friendly production, which preserves the vitamins and other valuable ingredients as much as possible.

Our plant recommendation: Use for planting NatureHolic InVitros. These are free of snails, planaria and other unwanted co-inhabitants. Also free of algae spores, bacteria and fungi.

Expert Tip: We recommend for fish keeping the NatureHolic 3 Phase Liquid. The care set offers the best all-round protection for your animals. It ensures optimal conditions for successful breeding and keeping.
