Hygrophila corymbosa is a widespread stem plant in Southeast Asia. There are several varieties that differ in leaf shape. As a rule, the above-water leaves are much darker in color than in the submerged stage. The Giant Water Lily is a good beginner plant for the background. Its rapid growth absorbs excess nutrients, depriving algae of their food source. As soon as the shoots have reached the water surface, they are cut back in half.
