from over 3,000 reviews "The chic large polyp bearded coral Duncanopsammia sp. belongs to the LPS corals. The name of this great stony coral is due to its particularly long tentacles. Here you buy 1-2 heads of the beautiful, especially structured stony coral. This cool LPS coral originally comes from the Indo-Pacific.
Duncanopsammia sp. Stony Corals are considered as LPS corals less demanding than small polyp SPS corals and well compatible with keeping in a marine reef aquarium. This makes these large polyp stony corals super suitable for anyone starting out with coral keeping in a reef aquarium - or for advanced users who would like to keep attractive stony corals that are not so demanding.
Duncanopsammia belongs to the fluorescent corals. The interestingly structured and sometimes very cool colored bearded coral Duncanopsammia sp. partly also changes color depending on the light intensity and the presence of nutrients as well as trace elements, therefore it is possible that its appearance varies in the aquarium. It grows better with a feeding of plant and animal plankton; also, the bearded coral then colors better.
For the bearded coral Duncanopsammia sp. with about 20 cm final size is suitable for marine reef aquariums from about 100 liters. Duncanopsammia sp. should receive medium current and medium light and prefers a place rather below to in the middle of the reef.
The bearded coral can be propagated quite well; for this you cut off a piece of branch and glue the coral fragment with a suitable coral glue on a small stone or directly on a suitable place in your reef.
