Beech leaves are an evergreen in aquaristics and have been used for a long time by dedicated aquarists in domestic aquariums. Beech leaves are mainly used as a natural fungicide (anti-fungal agent) to prevent fungal growth in fish eggs. But also as a natural food supplement beech leaves are very appreciated and so also widely used by loricariid keepers. Our Nano Beech Leaves are young, brown leaves of beech, which are carefully collected by hand from selected locations in the Black Forest, far away from industry and pollutants.

The carefully collected and then gently air-dried autumn leaves of beech are particularly rich in natural humic and tannins, which have been proven to have a positive influence on the health and well-being of our beloved little crawlers. Depending on the amount of leaves, oak leaves can also have a slightly acid ifying effect, stabilizing the pH to a desired, slightly acidic environment.

Nano beech leaves sometimes float up in the aquarium at first, this can be prevented by weighing down the leaves with suitable aids, such as clay tubes or similar, or by briefly scalding them with hot water beforehand. The over-brewing softens the leaves slightly and makes them more easily available for shrimp and Co.  By the way, the over-brewing of the Nano Beech leaves has a slightly antibacterial effect.

A slight coloring of the water by the leaves is natural and completely harmless.

Use:
1 - 3 leaves per 15-25 liters of tank volume. To achieve a fungicidal effect significantly more. The initially floating leaves sink to the bottom after a few days, where they can be left until complete decomposition. Leaves that have not decomposed can be removed after a few days.
