Rotala sp. "Ceylon" is a stem plant originally from the island of Sri Lanka. In medium light, the foliage of this Rotala is light green with pink leaf undersides. In stronger light, the tops of the leaves also take on a reddish color. The stem plant has a loose upright growth, the groups form beautiful bushes in the background of the aquarium. Depending on the light intensity, they grow from 20 to 80 cm long. Rotala sp. "Ceylon" thrives best in medium to strong light, CO2 addition is not absolutely necessary, but with CO2 fertilization it grows much better.
Its rapid growth ensures that it absorbs nutrients well, and so Rotala sp. "Ceylon" is very well suited to counter algae.
As lab-grown plants, Natureholic InVitro plants are sterile, meaning that no pesticides have been used here, nor are there any snails, worms or other animals. So you can put this Rotala sp. "Ceylon" into your aquarium without any further precautions like quarantine or parasite treatment. You should only remove the culture medium from the roots. To do this, carefully rinse the root area under running water.
Rotala sp. "Ceylon" is propagated as a stem plant via cuttings. To do this, simply cut off the shoot tips and replant them. To rejuvenate the group of plants, proceed like this: Cut off the top third of the Rotala sp. Ceylon, remove the lower parts from the aquarium and simply place the cut off upper part in the soil. The shoots will quickly take root and soon sprout again. This way your Rotala group will always look beautiful and fresh.
Our recommendation: For a magnificent plant growth we recommend the use of the NatureHolic fertilizer series and for new set up the Premium Nutrient Substrate NatureHolic GroundBooster.
