The blue coarse filter foam is ideal for filtering out coarse dirt particles and also offers microorganisms a great place to settle and break down pollutants. Thus maintained, your aquarium remains in biological balance.

The coarse filter foam holds larger dirt particles such as leaves or food flakes and prevents finer filter media from becoming clogged. This optimally extends the service life of the filter and shifts the cleaning interval backwards. Useful cleaning bacteria also contribute to the breakdown of pollutants and effectively convert waste materials.

When the water outlet on the filter noticeably decreases, it is time to replace or clean the filter media. You can replace the filter foam in no time, as it is already cut to fit your filter. Be careful never to replace all the filter media at the same time, otherwise too many of the good bacteria will be lost. With a bacteria preparation like our Crusta Bacter Liquid you can prevent this.
