Especially the plant nutrient phosphate causes undesired algae growth if its amount is too high. Especially food, but also the excretions of the fish produce phosphates in the aquarium. Therefore, the substrate should always be cleaned thoroughly with a mulm bell and the fish fed sparingly.

The coarse-grained granulate of the Dennerle Nano Algae Stop can be used together with the Nano Filter Module and the Nano Filter Extension from Dennerle in the nano freshwater aquarium, but also in any other filter. The Algae Stop granulate removes the algae nutrient phosphate effectively and reliably over a period of 3 months. After that it should be removed and replaced. You will know the right time to replace it when you notice a renewed increase in phosphate when measuring your water values. The granulate effectively binds phosphate once it has been bound and does not release it back into the water; it is also excellently biologically compatible.
