from over 3,000 reviews "To ensure that fish feel as comfortable in the aquarium as they do in their habitat, feeding live food is often the method of choice. Here, microcell supports the breeding of the feed animals enormously. Especially homemade live food, often in the form of Artemia nauplii, supports the natural feeding behavior of fish and usually convinces even shy wild fish or special food refusers. The small brine shrimp can be raised in no time at all and provide a very special nutrient profile: a high proportion of macronutrients such as high-quality fats and proteins support healthy growth, strengthen the body's defenses and help to produce a magnificent color. Last but not least, the right food also promotes spawning readiness.
Mikrozell is a powdered rearing feed for Artemia and others, which contains very finely ground phytoplankton and other minerals. This makes it optimal for rearing Artemia nauplii and also fry or sessile invertebrates in marine aquariums. The brine shrimp are best reared in a tall container 30 or 40 centimeters high. The water is kept in motion by means of an air outlet connected to an air pump, so that the microcells - i.e. the food - is always kept in suspension, as the nauplii do not eat from the bottom and can thus absorb it best. Daylight and room temperature are beneficial for rearing. Below 20 °C, however, the growth and reproduction rate of the Artemia slows down.
The microcell complements itself optimally with Liquizell, which we carry likewise in the Shop. 1-2 days after hatching the nauplii can be fed with the liquid Liquizell, which is switched to the microcell after another 8-10 days. When feeding, however, make sure to feed only until the water has a slight green coloration and feed again only when the water is absolutely clear again. Overfeeding in particular is one of the most common causes of nauplii death.
