from over 3,000 reviews "The Plantahunter natural gravel "Beach" from Dennerlebears its name rightly and is perfect for keeping dwarf shrimps, mussels, dwarf crabs, but also bottom-dwelling fish with sensitive barbels, such as Corydoras. Thanks to its superfine consistency with a grain size of 0.1-0.6 millimeters, this natural quartz gravel provides the perfect foundation in the aquarium, the snow-white color is perfect for the optimal "beach feeling".
Due to the significantly increased surface area, this substrate is ideally suited as a biological filter, because useful purification bacteria can multiply super here and have a decisive influence on the water quality. Especially mussels can find an excellent habitat in the fine substrate, the fine grain size optimally supports their well-being. But also digging snails search the substrate for food and keep it clean.
A slow-release fertilizer under the Plantahunter gravel is ideal for making it easier for new plants to grow and take root, and provides them with optimal nutrients. This is especially recommended for newly set up aquariums, because powerful plant growth not only provides the water with vital oxygen, pollutants are also optimally removed and algae are deprived of the food basis, so that their development is weakened especially in the run-in phase.
The snow-white, superfine and natural, lime-free quartz sand is a 100% natural natural graveland creates a great color contrast in the aquarium, especially in combination with other gravel and hardscape such as roots or stones, which we carry in the store. It is also lightfast and CO2 resistant.
We recommend this substrate setup:
Fill in approx. 2 cm Dennerle NanoDeponitMix Special Nutrient Substrate or another nutrient substrate and then cover with at least 3 cm Dennerle Nano Shrimp Gravel.
Before first use, the gravel should be washed out several times with cold water to remove abrasion caused by transport. By the way, you can find more colors in the store!
