The Cuba Dwarf Pearlwort (Hemianthus callitrichoides) from Central America, sometimes called simply Dwarf Pearlwort, is the smallest stem plant in the world. With its fresh green color and tiny leaflets, this creeping plant is a popular groundcover for the foreground.
Especially in combination with grass-like plants Hemianthus callitrichoides "Cuba" looks very natural. For aquariums with Soil we recommend a layer of fine Soil (Powder) over the normal substrate, so that the short roots can get a good foothold. The dwarf pearlwort can also be tied to small flat stones with nylon thread or similar, so it cannot be dug up by digging snails, for example.
Regular pruning is important to keep the dwarf pearlwort short and bushy. The plant can be propagated simply by dividing or by replanting cut shoots.
InVitro plants come from tissue culture and are guaranteed free of algae, pathogens, planaria and snails. Before insertion, the plants only need to be freed from the adhering nutrient medium.
Our recommendation: For magnificent plant growth, we recommend the premium nutrient medium when setting up new plants NatureHolic GroundBooster
Expert Tip: With the NatureHolic plant adhesive stick this plant gently and easily on stones, roots and decoration . Made in Germany, the adhesive does not pollute the water and has no negative impact on the stock.
