from over 3,000 reviews "With the Alkaline Regulator by SEACHEM you can easily correct the pH value in your aquarium to the alkaline range, i.e. between 7.1 and 7.6. This way you create a natural and habitat-true environment for your well-kept pets.
The Alkaline Regulator is particularly suitable in combination with the Neutral Regulator from Seachem when using osmosis water or mineral-free water. The difference with the Alkaline Buffer, which works by means of carbonate/bicarbonate based buffers, is that the Alkaline Regulator works on a phosphate basis. Therefore, when phosphate levels are high and could lead to undesirable algae growth, it is more recommended to use the Alkaline Buffer. The only disadvantage, however, is pH fluctuations depending on the CO2 balance. These tend to be stabilized by phosphate buffers such as Alkaline Regulator.
Application: Stir 1 teaspoon (approx. 5g) daily into 40-80 liters of water until the desired pH is reached. Also use Alkaline Regulator when changing water to maintain pH. By means of Neutral Regulator the pH-value can be lowered again gently.
