Filter foam insert - coarse

In aquarium filters, coarse filter foam inserts often take over the lion's share of the cleaning work, because they pre-filter coarse dirt excellently and thus increase the service life of the filter. This shifts the cleaning interval further back. The coarse porous surface not only holds food flakes or leaves, it is also home to beneficial microorganisms that safely and reliably convert and break down pollutants.

Replacing the filter foam insert is easy. It can be inserted further forward to reliably retain coarse particles and keep fine filter materials from clogging. Thanks to its water-neutral material, it is ideally suited for use under and with water.

You should always keep a watchful eye on the filter media, because a well-maintained filter is the be-all and end-all of a successful aquarium. Especially if the filter outlet is just rippling anymore, you should consider cleaning it. Always replace the filter media in order and never all at the same time. The coarse filter foam insert can be rinsed under clear water and replaced once a year. The lost microorganisms can be easily replaced with a bacterial preparation.
