Aquascaping refers to the technique of designing aquarium landscapes. This can involve imaginative plant compositions, recreations of an overwater landscape or natural habitats. An aquascaping aquarium contains little to no fish and invertebrates. Thus, the supply of nutrients to plants is reduced and their growth is limited. Nitrogen, phosphorus and other minerals become scarce and need to be specifically re-fertilized. For healthy plant growth in a beautiful underwater landscape, plants need light, CO2 and the right nutrients.

Rich in minerals
ProScape Soils are special soil grounds that have been specially adapted to the needs of aquascapers. Soils are not water neutral, but have a softening effect. They soften the water and acidify it slightly so that the pH value moves into the slightly acidic range. JBL Plant-Soils are highly nutrient-loaded to supply the plants immediately with nutrients and minerals, while ShrimpsSoils are more nutrient-poor. Application:
Rinse the substrate briefly under tap water to remove abrasion caused by transport. To prevent accumulation of minerals in the water, 50% water change every 2 - 3 days for the first two weeks after filling. As the influence on the water values depends on the initial water and the intervals between water changes, the softening effect decreases over time.
