Product information
Kyathite danio DNZ - Danio kyathit
- Garnelio

Description

The kyathite danio (Danio kyathit), also known as the red zebra danio, is a small freshwater fish native to Asia. It is especially common in Myanmar (Burma). In nature it lives in fast flowing rivers.

Kyathite danios are easy to care for aquarium inhabitants and belong to the small remaining danios. They reach a maximum size of about 4 cm and require an aquarium with a capacity of at least 70 liters. In the aquarium they prefer shaded areas, which can be created by caves, tubes, roots, aquarium plants or rock and stone structures. A floating plant cover provides additional security for the fish and makes their coloration appear more intense.

Kyathite danios are schooling fish and should therefore be kept in groups. Socialization with other peaceful and equally sized ornamental fish, invertebrates or dwarf shrimp is possible without problems. The kyathite danio has no special requirements to the water parameters in the aquarium and feels comfortable at water temperatures between 19 and 26 degrees Celsius and a pH value between 6.0 and 7.8.

In terms of diet, Kyathi danios are uncomplicated and can be easily accustomed to live food, frozen food or flake food. Feeding should be regular and in adequate amounts to ensure good health and growth of the fish.

Kyathite danios have been successfully bred in aquariums and can also be accidentally bred occasionally in community aquariums. As is typical for zebra barbs, the fish spawn in shoals on fine floating plants and java moss. The fry hatch after about 3-4 days.

All in all, Kyathite Barbs are a good choice for aquarists looking for easy to care for and interesting fish that can also be socialized well with other fish species.

Our food recommendation: The NatureHolic Main Feed is a professional staple food for all aquarium fish. We supply Hauptfeed in the form of a soft granulate, which thanks to its grain size of half a millimeter can be easily ingested by small to medium sized fish. The soft consistency resembles the texture of insect larvae in nature and protects the fish mouth from micro-injuries.

Our plant recommendation: Use for planting NatureHolic InVitros. These are free of snails, planarians and other unwanted co-inhabitants. Also free of algae spores, bacteria and fungi.

Expert Tip: We recommend when keeping fish the NatureHolic 3 Phase Liquid. The care set offers the best all-round protection for your animals. It ensures optimal conditions for successful breeding and keeping.

Hallo Jürgen, vielen Dank für deine Frage! Die Tiere sehen  Zebrabärblingen sehr ähnlich, haben aber rot angefärbte Flossen.
