For a species-appropriate keeping, common musk turtles need an aquaterrarium with a capacity of at least 200 l, which should contain both a water and a land part. The water temperature should be between 22 and 30 degrees Celsius, and the pH should be between 6 and 8. For basking, the turtles need a UV lamp, while a land part should be accessible through climbing opportunities such as woods or tree trunks.
In terms of diet, common musk turtles are primarily predatory and prefer live or frozen foods such as worms, guppies, insects or snails. Occasionally, you should feed a vegetable diet as well.
