Alder cones contain humins and tannins and have a very positive effect on the well-being of shrimps, snails, crayfish, crabs and also loricariids and other fish. The effect is similar to that of peat. Shrimp like to graze the cones, crabs and plant-eating catfish also like to eat them directly. In addition to the aforementioned tannins and humins, they also contain fiber and minerals that are vital for our aquarium animals.

Alder cones give the water in the aquarium a beautiful golden-yellow, very natural-looking shimmer, in which the colors of animals and plants seem even more radiant.

Alder cones can remain in the aquarium until they decompose or are eaten. Then you should replace them. They make a classy decoration that looks very close to nature.

Add one cone to 10-20 liters of aquarium contents. If the cones have been eaten, please add more. It has proven useful to add half of the suppositories to the aquarium about 1 week later, so that not all suppositories have to be replaced at once. If the water discolors too much towards tea-brown, remove a part of the suppositories (dry and use later) and carry out a partial water change.
