The bottom flattened shapely elongated Crustahöhle fits perfectly with 11 cm length for small to medium-sized crayfish, fan shrimp, small large arm shrimp and of course dwarf shrimp. The ceramic is pleasantly smooth and thanks to its dark brown color not very conspicuous in the aquarium.
With the Crusta Cave you offer dwarf shrimp and smaller Procambarus and Cherax species a very good hiding place. Monster fan shrimp also like a hiding place from which they can fan. In this case, the crustacean cave should have the opening facing the current. Most crustaceans in our aquariums are generally not averse to caves and gratefully accept them as a place to retreat. Especially after a moult, caves are of enormous importance.
The Crusta cave, which is closed at the back, can also be planted very well with mosses or with per ching plants such as Bucephalandra, water ferns or Anubias. The shape makes it easy to attachthe plants.
Fired ceramic is not only water neutral and does not harden the water, it also provides an ideal substrate for the growth of biofilms thanks to its slightly porous surface. These biofilms contain useful bacteria that positively influence the water quality and, incidentally, act as a great grazing opportunity for shrimps and crayfish.
