from over 3,000 reviews "The small polyped ultra red stony coral for marine aquariums Montipora digitata "Ultra red" lives up to its English name Velvet Coral. Its tiny bright red polyps cover the calcium skeleton of the stone coral like a velvety layer. The species Montipora digitata originates from the Indo-Pacific.
The Ultrared Small Polyped Stony Coral belongs to the SPS corals with especially small polyps. Their somewhat coarser structure looks really beautiful in the aquarium. Montipora digitata "Ultra Red" grows up to 25 cm and needs a reef aquarium from 150 liters. Much light, gladly with blue portion, good water values, as few as possible nutrients such as nitrate and phosphate in the sea water and a tidy current are necessary, so that the coral grows well in the reef aquarium and forms as intensive colors as possible.
The stony corals of the genus Montipora belong to the rather demanding class of SPS corals, but show themselves to be moderately difficult in care and are therefore also suitable for informed beginners in coral keeping in seawater.
Montipora digitata "Ultra red" shows a good and fast growth under species-appropriate conditions in the marine aquarium. Large specimens respond quite positively to the use of a wavebox for good flow. The temperature should not exceed 27 °C.
For propagation you can cut off the rather brittle coral branches of Montipora digitata "Ultra red" and stick them with coral glue on a stone or directly to a suitable spot on your marine reef.
The Ultra red Small Polyped Stony Coral is suitable for reef aquariums from 150 liters. The light loving SPS coral Montipora digitata "Ultra red" should get a place in the upper part of your marine reef.
Feed the Small Polyped Stony Coral Montipora digitata "Ultra red" as needed with fine plant and animal plankton.
