The Montipora sp. Red and Green Double shows bright red and green hues, which shine all the more intensely in good conditions. This SPS stony coral originates from the Indo-Pacific.
As a SPS coral, the Red and Green plate-like growing stony coral is equipped with especially small polyps. The somewhat coarser plate-like structure of Montipora sp. "Red and Green Double" fits great as an eye-catcher in the marine reef aquarium from 150 liters volume.
Plenty of light, preferably with a certain amount of blue, a good water quality with few nutrients like nitrate and phosphate and a proper water flow ensure that the pretty red and green coral shows good growth and especially intense colors in the reef aquarium.
The plate-like growing stony corals Montipora sp. belong to the class of rather demanding SPS corals, but are only moderately difficult to care for. They are therefore well suited for informed beginners in coral keeping in marine aquariums.
Montipora sp. "Red and Green Double" grows fast and well if kept species-appropriate in the marine aquarium. The water temperature should not exceed 27 °C.
Montipora sp. "Red and Green Double" is propagated by cutting a piece of plate and sticking it with coral glue - on a stone or directly on a well-suited place on your marine reef.
