Rainbow slate

With the rainbow slate great formations can be built in the aquarium and terrarium. The name "slate" refers less to the familiar gray slate but refers to the rock slab. These are about 2 cm thick and weigh about 2 kg. Rounded edges prevent animals from getting stuck or injured and also soothe the appearance.

The basic color of this sandstone is creamy beige to ocher.  Interspersed with different shades of red, the layered rainbow slate makes for an elegant appearance under water or in the terrarium. Especially for upright surfaces but also as a light floor plate it is great. The rainbow slate is also water neutral and does not affect the water values.

Stacked on top of each other, you get great step effects, simply combine several slates. But also as an eye-catcher lying on the substrate, it provides a unique eye-catcher. The large porous surface also offers denitrifying bacteria a great terrain to settle and multiply, especially shrimp and snails like to graze this biofilm. This is a great way to get your colorful pets to look their best.

The size of the rainbow slate could be changed by knocking it apart, but there is a risk that the plate then splinters and has sharp edges or becomes unusable, which is why we would rather advise against this.
