Are you looking for a colorful and peaceful ornamental fish for your aquarium? Then the Ruby Tetras (Aphyocharax rathbuni) are just right for you! These schooling fish originate from South America and are easy to keep even for beginners. They are suitable for both species tanks and community aquariums and only require a minimum tank size of 60 cm.
Ruby tetras prefer soft to medium hard water at a temperature of 19-26° Celsius and a pH of 6.0 to 7.0. They are uncomplicated fish that feed on commercially available ornamental fish food, frozen food and live food. In addition, they can be bred in the aquarium.
Upon delivery, Ruby Tetras are usually between 2-2.5 cm in size, but can grow up to 6 cm.
