The Tucano tetra also called Tucanoichthys tucano is a representative of the tetra from South America / Brazil. The pretty schooling fish should best be kept in a species tank, there he feels most comfortable. Tucano tetras are peaceful fish that like to live in the company of their species and should best be kept in a group of 10 or more.
Other small nano fish, dwarf shrimps, snails and other peaceful living invertebrates are suitable for socializing the tetras.
The small fish like it warm as usual from their home country, we recommend a temperature of c.a 23 to 28 degrees and a pH value of 6.0-8.
We recommend a tank size of at least 50 L and an edge length of at least 50 cm, planting and hiding places must not be missing of course!

Male tetras have red fins, this detail is not present in the females.
