The new variety Alternanthera reineckii "Mini" has not been on the market long. It grows only 5 cm high and is thus suitable as a red-colored highlight for the foreground even in nanoaquariums.
Combined with a light green carpet of Hemianthus or Lilaeopsis, the Miniature Parrot Leaf brings a strong color contrast. It needs very bright light and also a supply of CO2 to fully express its color and for compact growth. Under less light, the plant grows taller and becomes slightly greener.
The short, compact stems should be cut back a little from time to time so that the plant branches out nicely. This produces shoot tips that can be used in turn - this parrot leaf can also be propagated well and easily via cuttings.
