Der wirklich schicke, wunderschön tief blaue Azurcichlide macht seinem Namen alle Eher. Der räuberische Cichlide lebt in der Übergangszone zur Sandzone, jagt aber gerne im Felslittoral. Die Weibchen des Azurcichliden sind eher unscheinbar, aber die Männchen machen mit ihrem intensiven Blauton alles wett! Als Non Mbuna braucht Scianochromis ahli neben unterschiedlich hohen Steinaufbauten mit Spalten, Höhlen und Durchschlüpfen auch ausreichend Schwimmraum. - Garnelio

Blue mouthbrooder DNZ - Sciaenochromis ahli
The blue mouthbrooder, also called Scianochromis ahli , originally comes from Lake Malawi like very many of the mouthbrooders. Their main characteristic is the fantastic blue coloration, which is however only present in males. Female blue mouthbrooders are naturally grayish brown in color. Sciaenochromis ahli grow up to 20 - 25 cm in size, therefore they need a lot of space, a volume of at least 200 liters is recommended. Sciaenochromis ahli belong to the cichlid family and like to swim in smaller groups. They need sufficient hiding places, hardscapes, which are provided with crevices and holes, these serve as shelter for the mouthbrooders.
