This is a biological filter medium, which has volcanic origin and is particularly suitable for its use in aquaristics. The different sized pumice stones act as natural filter granules.
Due to its rough and porous surface structure, it provides an excellent surface for denitrifying purification bacteria to settle and multiply. These have a positive effect on the water values and thus promote the well-being and health of your pets. The water also becomes brilliantly clear again.
Before first use, rinse the filter pumice to remove abrasion caused by transport. Fill the filter pumice into a mesh bag, such as we carry in our store, and then place the filter media bag into the external filter. Every now and then you should remove the filter material and rinse it clearly. Since many of the beneficial bacteria are lost in the process, you should use a suitable bacteria preparation to replenish it, such as our Crusta Bacter Liquid.
