Here the robust, easy-care African spear leaf Anubias barteri sits on a lava stone. This allows it to be placed optimally (best in the middle ground), tied up this plant is much better to cultivate than planted. Also in nature it grows on roots or rocks, sometimes above and sometimes under water. Therefore it can also be grown in humid terrariums, also above the water surface it shows up very nicely.
The dark green foliage of the spear leaves contrasts beautifully with lighter green plants in the background. Anubias can be propagated very well by simply dividing the rhizome. Make sure there are at least two leaves still attached to each piece.
The slow growth and firm leaves, which are not eaten by most herbivores, are very attractive. Anubias barteri does not need much light and still feels comfortable in the shade of taller plants.
