Dennerle crystal quartz gravel fawn - 5 kg

With the fawn Dennerle quartz gravel you provide the perfect foundation in the aquarium with a very harmonious appearance. The pleasant and soft fawn color perfectly accentuates the green and red of your aquarium plants, and your animals will also look colorful and magnificent. The rounded grain size has 1-2 millimeters and thus also protects the fine barbels and "antennae" of your bottom-dwelling catfish. Especially mussels find an optimal stand in the quartz gravel.

As the largest biological filter , the substrate is one of the most important units in the aquarium, because a number of useful denitrifiers settle on and in it, which significantly support waste utilization and thus improve the habitat of the animals kept. The fawn quartz gravel does not affect the water values, because it is hardness-free, lightfast, CO2 resistant and water neutral. In combination with roots and other woods, but also with other gravel colors, you can easily create an oasis of contentment.

It is recommended, especially when setting up new aquariums, to work from the beginning with a Nutrient substratewhich is placed under the gravel. Afterwards, the aquarium would have to be disassembled into all its parts. This slow-release fertilizer has a particularly beneficial effect on the plants used, because they form strong and vigorous roots and grow magnificently. As a result, the aquarium is optimally supplied with oxygen and pollutants are broken down more quickly - but also algae grow only sparsely.

We recommend this substrate setup:
Fill in approx. 2 cm of special nutrient substrate or another nutrient substrate and then cover with at least 3 cm of Dennerle crystal quartz gravel.

Before first use, the gravel should be washed out several times with cold water to remove abrasion caused by transport. By the way, you can find more colors in the store!
