Frog mouth pod - hiding place for shrimp aquarium

The Frogmouth is the fruit of the Jacaranda tree from Brazil (Jacaranda brasiliana). It is a wonderful, all-natural decoration with additional benefits for your animals in the aquarium and also in the terrarium.

The name of the frog's mouth is program: this woody fruit looks like a wide open frog's mouth. Shrimps, dwarf crayfish and young crayfish, but also smaller crabs in the aquaterrarium and of course many fish take this very natural hiding place very well as a shelter - the frog's mouth pod is something very special and a real rarity for your aquarium , aquaterrarium, paludarium and also for your terrarium. The frog's mouth pod is very gladly grazed by shrimps and aquarium snails.

The woody fruit shell is natural. It has not been treated, it is gently dried in the country of origin and it is already open and empty.

Frogmouth pods initially still float up, they must first soak up water for a few days so that they stay down. You should weight them down for that long. You can, of course, pre-water the frogmouth pods separately in a bucket or similar container before using them in the aquarium or water section of an aquaterrarium or paludarium.

It may happen that the pods close again when they become waterlogged. You can prevent this by, for example, jamming a piece of root wood or a small chunk of rock into the pod to keep it open. Once it is soaked, the frogmouth pod will stay open and you can remove the tool.
