Areca fiber - shrimp breeding ground

Areca fibers come from the areca palm from Southeast Asia. These fibers are also extremely durable and resistant under water in the aquarium , they are about four times as long-lasting as the well-known, proven sea almond leaves.

Areca fibers also contain a lot of tannins, which they gradually release into the water. Tannins are extremely important for our aquarium inhabitants because they make the water suitable for fish and invertebrates in freshwater aquariums. Useful bacteria also find plenty of space in the palm fiber and a favorable microclimate in which biofilms can settle optimally. Thus, areca fiber supports the important degradation of pollutantsin the aquarium.

Especially juvenile shrimps find an optimal habitat in the fibrous structures of these palm fibers. Here they can hide and graze the areca fibers. We have noticed a significant improvement in the juvenile shrimps in our plant: They grow almost twice as fast in the aquariums with areca fiber.

Areca fiber is therefore ideal for breeding aquariums, because it provides a rich supply of first food for baby shrimp, along with the important hiding places.

Areaca fiber is extremely productive. One sheet is at least 30x15 cm and is sufficient to supply a NanoCube with 30 l volume for at least 1 year. Please cut into appropriately sized portions (can be easily done with scissors).
