Taxiphyllum barbieri is also known as "Singapore moss" in aquaristics and gives the aquarium a great green eye-catcher. It is one of the first aquarium mosses that came into the trade and was once called Java moss, but later confused with Taxyphyllum barbieri, which we also carry in the store, which is why Vesicularia dubyana is considered "the real Java moss". Externally it reminds a bit of a forest moss, so that there are almost no limits in the design with our moss pad. The tied up moss is on a 8x8 cm grid, which can be placed quite comfortably in the aquarium. Especially use this green meadow gladly to graze, but also as a hiding place, so you get your darlings especially often to see, if you place the plate in the front area.

Thanks to its strong rhizoids, Singapore moss clings well to rough materials such as wood, roots or stones . However, it can also be tied down or glued on and then simply continues to grow. However, to prevent it from multiplying uncontrollably and detaching at some point, it can be kept in shape by plucking or cutting. These shoots can be replanted, and the plucked gaps will close by themselves after a while. The moss grows almost upright. Its forest moss-like appearance gives the aquarium a particularly natural touch.

It is very tolerant to water values and does not require a lot of light, however, it grows much better with an appropriate addition of nutrients . In general it is very easy to care for.
